The world, as they say, can be mundane or exciting, depending on how you see it. And if you know how to look at the same old things with a fresh perspective, you will see the world in a whole new light, quite like Jeff Goldblum. And if you don’t know how, then join him on an interesting journey as he explores the world and shares every simple, regular thing in a refreshing way, or the way he sees it.
Release date
‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ will debut with its first episode on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. The show is scheduled to release one episode per week.
Plot
The documentary web series follows popular actor Jeff Goldblum unraveling unfamiliar attributes of familiar objects and discover astonishing connections, fascinating science and facts, and interesting ideas. Each 30-minute episode will dig into daily objects like balloons, baseball, ice cream, coffee, subway, cereal, and even toilet paper; things you don’t even imagine to have a different side to them. Goldblum will explore their impacts on our lives and unimaginable revelations associated with each.
Cast
‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ features Goldblum himself as the presenter/host who will take you on a world exploration.
Goldblum started his career at the age of 17 as a stage actor in New York. With his unique style of delivery, Goldblum made an impression right from the beginning. His first major appearance came with Woody Allen’s ‘Annie Hall’ (1977), followed by ‘Body Snatchers’ (1978), Tenspeed and Brown Shoe (1980), and many more before he joined the ensemble cast of the ‘The Big Chill’ (1983). Known for his quirkiness and unique onscreen persona, Goldblum gave us a cult classic in the 1980’s ‘ Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension’. But the actor shot to fame with the biggest blockbuster of the 1990s in Spielberg’s ‘Jurassic Park’, followed by its sequel, ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’, and later, ‘Independence Day’. With these blockbuster movies, Goldblum became the star of the 90s and we saw him in a much more matured and intellectual role, unlike his work during the early days of his career. After almost a decade, Goldblum will be back to television in a leading role with the upcoming Disney series, ‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’.
Showrunner
The documentary web television series is produced by National Geographic Studios and Nutopia, with Brian Lovett serving as the executive producer of the show.
Trailer
Take a peek at how Goldblum has his own, unique take on daily things. The show will follow Goldblum as he travels around the world and explores pretty much whatever interests him at that moment: Sneakers, jewelry, ice cream, tattoos, Korean barbecue, square dancing, synchronized swimming and much more.
