It was a gripping end to AMC's 'The Walking End' Season 10. With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the filming was halted and this led to Episode 15 titled 'The Tower' to be a makeshift finale. The plotline saw Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and company pitted against Beta (Ryan Hurst) and his Whisperers with a horde of walkers in tow. 'The Tower' set the tone by teasing a massive showdown on the cards between the survivors and Beta's army.

The latest piece of update from Comicbook could probably dash fans' hopes a bit as a report read the finale might air only in the fall of 2020. The site explains that 'The Walking Dead' installments often serve as the lead-ins for other major shows on the network. This makes sense as the finale might probably lead-in to the zombie drama's latest spin-off 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' due to arrive this fall.

As far as the production developments go, season finale director Greg Nicotero, in a recent interview with EW said: "You have to edit the episode, then you do sound effects, and then you do music, and then visual effects, and then color timing to make sure all the colors in all the scenes match, and then you have to do a quality check to make sure nothing is messed up. So there are all these steps that have to happen, and generally speaking, the way our production schedule works is those happen up to about three weeks before the episode airs."

Nicotero added: "We were really on our way to the finish line when things started slowing down because of the stay at home-work order. So we just missed that window. It wasn't that the effects were delayed or anything was delayed. It was just the delivery of the episode that was set to be delivered at a specific date and we had to shut down before they hit that date."

In related news, 'Fear the Walking Dead' fans have been wondering when the sixth installment hits AMC and in what comes as a pleasing bit of news, according to star Danay Garcia, the new season may launch sometime in August. Previous seasons of the post-apocalypse horror drama have seen launch dates in mid-April and early June and runs all through late September.
