This season of 'The Walking Dead' hasn't been shying away from packing the punches. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed Alpha (Samantha Morton) and impaled her head on a stick. Carol (Melissa McBride) killed Lizzie Samuels (Brighton Sharbino). Michonne (Danai Gurrira) has gone to find Rick, which has ended her story arc on the show for a while. Danger is still lurking in the form of Beta (Ryan Hurst), who is mutinous after Alpha's death and is more than ready for a bloody war. In the latest episode, Beta has raised his own army of Walkers and is gearing up to take revenge and unleash death on the residents of Alexandria. It's time for a showdown.

Beta has been trying to track down the Alexandrians. At first, he heads to the ghost-like town, but it's empty, other than Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Alden (Callan McAuliffe), who are hoping to bring him to Oceanside with the strange hope of stopping the Whisperers. So, Beta is busy leading the horde to Oceanside while Aaron and Alden spied on them and reported their location to the Tower. However, Beta notices a cat crossing a path and this, probably, somehow tells him what he wants to know.

Beta changes his direction. And so, all does not bode well for Aaron and Alden. They are surrounded by Walkers and Beta brandishes his weapon at them. This wasn't meant to be a finale, but given the circumstances and uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, one isn't sure when the actual finale might release.

So what's going to happen? Will Beta kill them then and there or hold them as ransom and just torture them? The mystery of Aaron and Alden's untold fate is going to hang over fans' heads till they see the actual finale, whenever that is. Given the unpredictability of the show, it could go either way.

Another question is, will Beta himself survive the war? The answer to that question itself is uncertain as there have been thinly-veiled hints that his demise is quite close. But he won't go down without a fight.

'The Walking Dead' airs on AMC Sundays at 9pm.
