‘The Voice’ Season 19: John Legend picks Tamara Jade over Olivia Reyes, fans say her voice is emotional and clear

Both the singers, who are known for their powerful voices, crooned H.E.R’s popular song ‘Hard Place’ while competing for a place in the next round

The battle rounds in Season 19 of ‘The Voice’ have commenced and after Team Blake picked the mother-daughter trio Worth the Wait, it was Team Legend's turn to show their magic. Singers Olivia Reyes and Tamara Jade were picked for the very first battle round from John Legend’s team. Both the singers, who are known for their powerful voices, crooned H.E.R.’s popular song ‘Hard Place’ while competing for a place in the next round.

Olivia and Tamara also got a few tips from their very talented mentor Miguel who will be seen polishing other contestants from Legend’s team throughout the season. Both the singers got showered with praises for how they carried the song perfectly. While it is only the main team coach’s vote that counts, in the end, Gwen Stefani opted for Tamara whilst the other two refrained from making their respective choices.

In the end, it was John’s call. He went for Tamara Jade while saying that he loved her confidence adding that he is going to stick with her.

The Internet also seemed impressed with Tamara Jade. Taking it to Twitter one user said, “@Miguel I could watch him all night #TheVoice #TeamLegend  you have a great battle @johnlegend” Another said, “#thevoice Tamara jade has to be the most outspoken contestant ever.” One individual asserted, “Tamara Jade vs Olivia Reyes They are well-matched in the opening. Great harmony, so in sync. Love Olivia stank face delivery. She’s got a great tone. Tamara is so clean and clear, emotional and power. Wide range too.”

The battle rounds will see the coaches enlisting the music industry powerhouses Leon Bridges, Miguel, Kane Brown and Julia Michaels to prepare their artistes to go head-to-head in hope of advancing to the knockouts. Kane Brown will work with Team Blake, Julia Michaels joins Team Gwen, Leon Bridges assists Team Kelly, while Miguel will lend his support to Team Legend.

The new season of ‘The Voice’ is being hosted by Carson Daly. Season 19 episodes will be aired on NBC. Fans can also catch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.
