The final episode of the blind auditions of ‘The Voice’ season 19 opened with a 21-year-old singer named Julia Cooper from Ohio. Looking confident, the young lady crooned ‘Alaska’ by Maggie Rogers and impressed the coaches within the very first few seconds into her performance. John Legend was the first coach to press the red buzzer and turn his red chair followed by Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. Blake Shelton did not turn his chair around.

Looking elated, Legend even gave a standing ovation to Cooper and showered her with praises saying he can’t wait to work with her while revealing that he too is from Ohio. Kelly and Gwen also tried their best to convince Cooper but it was Team Legend that finally bagged the talented vocalist.

The Internet also seemed impressed with Cooper’s singing skills. One user took to Twitter and said, “Gooooo Julia Cooper on@NBCTheVoice!!! She’s absolutely incredible and love the hometown pride that’s going to explode for this fellow Bulldog!!! Take this national stage and enjoy it! You rock girl!!”

Another expressed, “Never had a reason to root for someone on a tv show but Julia Cooper from Poland, Ohio that just got picked by John Legend on #TheVoice is the younger sister of one of my wife’s best friends.
