One of the last contestants to show up on the final episode of the blind auditions of ‘The Voice’ Season 19 was singer James Pyle. The 30-year-old singer from California was under a lot of pressure as there were no spots left in Team Blake, Team Gwen and Team Kelly. However, he did try his luck with John Legend as he performed Harry Styles’ chart-topping single ‘Watermelon Sugar’ with utmost confidence, teamed up with some smooth footwork.

Luck was in favor as John Legend did press the red buzzer and turned his big red chair around in the middle of the singer’s performance. John thoroughly enjoyed James’ one-minute show and it seemed as if Pyle was the contestant he was looking for. John even gave a standing ovation to James the moment his performance ended. While speaking to the contestant after his performance, Kelly Clarkson confessed that she wanted to press the red buzzer so hard but unfortunately her team was already full but she loved his falsetto and how smoothly he performed the song. Rest of the coaches praised him equally and John was more than happy to fill the last slot in his team with the very talented singer.

If we speak about the reactions from the internet, the majority of the people were pleased with the final decision. One user said, “That's crazy. John Legend got LUCKY. The only judge that had a spot left. Excellent performance. Terrific voice. Congrats. It would have been interesting/entertaining to see the judges fight it out for him.” One individual tweeted, “This will be the one to beat this season!” Another added, “Think someone just got the winner of this season.” One stated, “Better than Harry!!!  Sooooooo goood!”
