In one of the final battle rounds from ‘The Voice’ Season 19, coach Kelly Clarkson paired singers Ryan Gallagher and Marisa Corvo who went head to head on Celine Dion’s popular track ‘I Surrender’. Both talented vocalists serenaded the judges with their powerful singing skills, but after much deliberation, Kelly Clarkson opted for Mariso Corvo over Ryan Gallagher.

When everyone thought this was the end of Ryan’s journey on the singing reality show, Kelly Clarkson surprised her fellow judges and viewers by pressing the red buzzer before Ryan could exit from the stage and saving him in order to send him to the knockout round.

Ryan seemed to be a favorite among the judges since the blind auditions when he left all of them impressed by crooning ‘The Prayer’ by Celine Dion and to remind you, Kelly and Blake Shelton even fought for him to make him join their respective teams.

The Internet also showered praises on Ryan Gallagher’s performance in the battle round. One user tweeted, “Ryan Gallagher is so Good, I think  he needs to stay for the Knockout rounds.#TheVoice @marisa_corvo vs @RyanDGallagher” One user asserted, “Watching battle rounds on @NBCTheVoice. Wife says Ryan Gallagher reminded us of Josh Groban. Strength, clarity, tone, we loved him!”

Another added, “KELLY THANK GOD YOU SAVED HIM!!!!!!! Omg he is awesome and delivered without even going overboard trying like she was doing. Sorry but she was over bored trying, I’m so happy you saved him, he was the winner to me big time.”

One individual posted, “Disappointed in Kelly. Kinda feel she picked the song for Marisa to shine (is this rigged?). Ryan clearly showed his ability to sing anything, clear and concise, and completely out of his comfort zone. Marisa is a great singer, but Ryan should have won the battle.”

A user tweeted, “Ryan performed his part of this song better. Marisa was over singing Ryan and being dramatic. You can’t let two people with totally different styles battle. One will always cover the other. It’s not fair. Ryan should have won.” One shared, “Marisa was great but glad Ryan was saved; he was my favorite in this battle.”

Clearly, the Internet went gaga over Ryan’s singing skills. Interestingly, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter from Michigan is quite familiar with reality shows. Ryan first auditioned for 'American Idol', however, he didn't get that much airtime on the show and never made it to the live shows, according to ScreenRant.

He has also been a part of another reality show called ‘Ex On The Beach: Peak Of Love’ which aired on MTV between December 2019 and February 2020. Ryan was featured in all 14 episodes of that season.

The official website of the singer describes him as, “a classically trained vocalist. He got his start in the music industry singing back up for world-renowned singer Josh Groban. Ryan has since shared the stage with music icons ranging from Carrie Underwood, Michael Bolton and Lea Salonga just to name a few. His early career was spent in Nashville songwriting and performing on the country music circuit. Ryan's first single 'Gone for Good' was picked up by Clear Channel Radio.”
