NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jada Pinkett Smith released her memoir titled ‘Worthy' on October 17, 2023, following which she was interviewed by ‘Today’ host Hoda Kotb. During the interview, Jada opened up about being separated from Will Smith for several years.

Jada and Will’s relationship or rather the lack of it was discussed in-depth on ‘The View’. Recently, as Britney Spears also released her memoir, both books were discussed on the daytime talk show again.

When ‘The View’ panel discussed both the memoirs and social media, Sunny Hostin admitted to reading 'Worthy' as she praised Jada’s book. The host was, however, faced severe backlash for the same.

Sunny Hostin sheds light on celebrities and social media

On ‘The View', host and moderator Whoopi Goldberg introduced the topic of memoirs, social media, and juicy revelations to her co-hosts.

She said, “Apparently, Jada Pinkett Smith and Britney Spears are just two of the big celebrities releasing explosive memoirs and this comes at a time when nonfiction and tell-all sales seem to be down.”

Goldberg added, “And reportedly publishers are insisting that celebrity memoirs be particularly juicy and revealing in the age of social media, and uh, I don't know. Do you think people feel like maybe they already know a whole bunch about celebrities in social media…on social media or such?”

After Alyssa Farah Griffin weighed in, Sunny Hostin spoke about social media and Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir.

“See I think that people do think they know from social media,” Hostin said, adding, “They think they know you from like clips on YouTube, and a lot of those are taken out of context, they don’t really know you or where you came from.”

Hostin also revealed her friend suggested that she should read Jada’s book as it gave “a lot of insight.”

“I started reading it, and I have a completely different opinion about her now,” admitted Hostin, before continuing, “She basically says, ‘Do you really think that I have that much power over the Will Smith?’”
