Practically synonymous with the very genre of "rock", they are an iconic British rock band who have sold more than 240m albums worldwide and enjoyed nearly six decades at the top of the global music industry.

And now, The Rolling Stones have delighted fans as they confirmed that they will tour the UK for the first time in five years, and announced five concert dates for the summer, reports Rolling Stone magazine.

The UK leg is part of the band's extended "No Filter" tour, which will also host the band in Ireland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Poland. The upcoming leg kicks of on May 17 in Dublin, Ireland and concludes July 8 in Warsaw, Poland.

"It's such a joy to play with this band,” guitarist Keith Richards said in a statement. "There's no stopping us. We're only just getting started, really.”

The first leg of the "No Filter" tour, which found the band unearthing rarely performed songs like 'Dancing With Mr. D' and 'Play With Fire,' ran last fall with 14 European dates in September and October.

Singer Mick Jagger said of the tour: "This part of the No Filter tour is really special for the Stones. We are looking forward to getting back on stage and playing to fans in the UK and Ireland. It's always exhilarating going to cities we haven’t played for quite a while — and also some new venues for us like Old Trafford and The London Stadium.”

Although the quartet haven't released a studio album of original songs since 2005's A Bigger Bang, though they did issue a covers LP, Blue & Lonesome (which bagged them their third ever Grammy - for Best Traditional Blues Album), in 2016. But Keith Richards recently told Rolling Stone Magazine that the quartet is working on a record of new original material, which would be the band’s first in over a decade - something that is totally worth getting excited for!

The general sale of tickets for the "No Filter" tour begins at 9 am on this Friday (March 2), with tickets available on the band's official website and other leading agencies. A pre-sale for fan club members starts at noon tomorrow (February 27), but you’ll need to sign up by midnight tonight to avail benefits.
