'The Outsider' finale picks up pace and delivers a gripping ending, fans are now hoping for Season 2
Spoiler alert for 'The Outsider’ Season 1
The season finale of 'The Outsider' strayed away from its usual slow-paced episodes to deliver a gripping ending. Characters that had been slowly developing a back story of their own throughout their series were brought to the brink of their limits. The closure was gained at the cost of more than one skeleton, but fans were impressed with the way the story put an end to the destruction caused by the rambunctious unearthly creature, El Cuco.
With El Cuco taking the lives of children and feeding on sadness in the course of this season, we saw it come to its demise at the hands of an initial non-believer. Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) and Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo) can be considered to be the main characters and their investigative skills as a duo were put to the test when one believed in the supernatural while the other searched for blatant facts.
In the previous episode, we saw Anderson take his first step at acknowledging the existence of El Cuco while in the season finale, he hit the fatal shot. The character growth is impeccable. Fans want more of the incredible duo as they seem to play off each other pretty well. "#TheOutsider season 2... I’m in.. Holly deserves more. Based on that season finale, we. want. more. Ralph and Holly teaming up again to fight the supernatural? Yes. Please," tweeted another fan.
Fans were also incredibly touched by his storyline with his wife, Jeannie Anderson (Mare Winningham), with one tweeting, "Damn. That final scene where Ralph and Jeannie are talking in the graveyard, and Ralph talks about the next time they’ll see their son really hit me... Mendehlson’s acting was amazing. Favorite scene of the whole show #TheOutsider #TheOutsiderHBO."
"I, for one, was very satisfied by the ending of #TheOutsiderHBO," tweeted one fan with another listing the reasons behind why this was a great season-ending to a daunting tell-over from a King' novel, "Yea like four people died and our main characters almost got trapped in a cave. Terry’s name got cleared and Ralph found a little peace. Holly might’ve got got. What more do folks want?! #TheOutsiderHBO #TheOutsider."
Another fan tweeted his excitement for a possible Season 2, "Just finished the season finale of @TheOutsiderHBO such a damn good show! Stephen King you beautiful minded bastard, you got me again! Cast and production team killed it. Season 2!? #TheOutsider. Fans kept guessing with another one tweeting, "I watched again and just noticed the scratch on Holly's arm! OMG! Season 2 here we come! #TheOutsider."
