'The Old Man' on FX: Fans call Jeff Bridges' spy thriller 'captivating and intriguing'

Jeff Bridges-starrer 'The Old Man' on FX still garnered ample attention and opened to rave reviews on social media. While one part of the country was watching a mighty-important Game 6 of the NBA 2021-22 finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics, which the former won, there were unsurprisingly a substantial amount of takers for the spy thriller. 

The series opened with two episodes and sees Dan Chase (Bridges), a former army intelligence officer living in a small town in Vermont with his two dogs for close to 35 years. He's MIA after reportedly stealing $20 million during a mission in Libya, following which he goes on a run. All of a sudden, he finds himself being targeted by assassins and his mission is simple— stay alive, find out who wants to kill him, and make a getaway. The series based on Thomas Perry's novel of the same name also stars John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman in key roles.

"The reviewer on NPR today cited the last scene from "Big Night" as a forebear to this one. Well... he is entirely correct. Tough break for the Boston Celtics though. Well, if it's any consolation, the C's fans can watch 'The Old Man' on Hulu.

I don't think i have been this excited for a new show from the casting, the layers and cinematography," one of the tweets read. "He can fight. He likes dogs. Knows his way around the kitchen. And cleans up nice for a first date. There’s a lot to recommend about @thejeffbridges as the lead character in ⁦@theoldmanfx⁩. #theoldmanfx," a fan commented.
