HBO has teamed up with filmmaker Joss Whedon for the sci-fi series ‘The Nevers’ featuring Laura Donnelly, Eleanor Tomlinson and Ann Skelly in pivotal roles. Whedon has been a figure of controversy in recent times and has faced a lot of backlash on social media because of his unprofessional behavior on the set of 'Justice League'. It will be really important for him to succeed in this and garner favorable public reviews as soon as the show hits the network.

Meanwhile, HBO would be hoping for the show to get a bumper response from the viewers. The network's recent sci-fi shows like 'Westworld' and 'Raised by the Wolves' received positive reviews from critics and viewers.

As far as 'The Nevers' is concerned, the series revolves around people who have certain superpowers. However, they are being hunted down by an evil woman who wants to act against the women who have received abnormal abilities. Referred to as "touched", they have strange and occasionally indescribable powers, imperiously called “tricks” or “turns”.

But, who are these people and how did they get these superpowers? Let’s dig deeper and take a look at some specific details about ‘The Nevers’.

How did the ‘Touched’ get their superpowers?

The first episode kicks off in London in 1896, where a puzzling event has left some people changed forever. The members of the group now have superpower abilities and are currently facing issues in the outside world. While some like them, others want them dead.

The group is primarily made up of women who had awoken from a baffling event three years ago with supernatural powers. However, it is becoming hard for them to survive because a woman named Maladie (Amy Manson) is raising a kind of rival army of gifted women to counter the good ones.

The members of the “Touched” have found safe haven in an orphanage run by Amalia True (Donnelly), an experienced fighter, who has the power to see the “ripples” of the future. The first episode mainly revolves around Amalia and Penance trying to keep the Touched women safe. The group feels really blessed to have found a “home”.

With the outside world ready to attack them, it will be interesting to see how Amalia and Penance will work together to keep everyone safe. According to the duo, ‘The Touched’ must be ready for anything because the evil forces will come for them.

“The Touched” must stay together to fight the evil and take them head-on because they might get outnumbered by the alliance of various people who want to hurt them for their personal gains.
