'The Masked Singer: After The Mask': New talk show has fans admitting they needed the laughter as an escape

Hosted by Nick Cannon, the show talks about the best moments from the episode. We also got to see never before seen footage of the unmasked celebrities

'The Masked Singer: After The Mask'  the reality tv competition's new talk show spin-off premiered on Fox after 'The Masked Singer: Season 3' on Wednesday night. 

On April 22 on  'The Masked Singer' Season 3 we witnessed the Banana and Kitty face off in a smackdown. But ultimately, Kitty won the smackdown, leaving the Banana being the celebrity getting unmasked. Surprisingly, Sharon Osbourne and all the panelists except Ken Jeong guessed that it was Bret Michaels and right enough it was him under the mask. 

Post the episode, the series premiered with its new talk show spin-off based on the show. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the show talks about the best moments from the episode. Michaels also appeared on 'The Masked Singer: After The Mask', but we also got to see never before seen footage of the unmasked celebrities, who will battle it out next week. 

Amid the lockdown, the show aired from the comfort of the celebrities' own homes. Nick hosted the show from home with a special stage and got on a video call with the celebrities who joined him tonight. 

Joining Nick tonight on video call was unmasked celebrity, Michaels, Ken, frequent guest judge Joel McHale, Season 2 contestant Kelly Osbourne and Jojo Siwa who was the T-Rex on Season 3. Since we're all in a lockdown, 100 superfans joined the show as the audience from the comfort of their own homes. Jojo revealed that her favorite part of being on 'The Masked Singer' was her costume. 

The talk show was filled with bickering between Ken and Joel who left fans in fits of laughter. There was also a special performance by Michaels himself. Watching the premiere of 'After the Mask' fans on Twitter admitted that they needed the fun and laughter amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

"Loving #AfterTheMask, it's such a fun show and @NicoleScherzy's tweets are keeping me even more entertained too," a fan wrote. While another added, "Gotta love the fun and togetherness during this pandemic! I needed some good laughs #AfterTheMask." 

"@MaskedSingerFOX I am really loving #AfterTheMask right now. I definitely think we all need to escape this crazy world right now.. even for a short time and enjoy some laughter," a fan said. Adding to that another shared, "Sorry what I said earlier.. this #AfterTheMask is killing me!! So funny!!!!" 

"A night of laughter hits the soul ! Can’t get enough of #TheMaskedSinger and most of all #AfterTheMask," a fan added. While another said, "I love it. Y’all should’ve been doing this after every episode. #AfterTheMask."
