If there's one character on 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' that can never seem to catch a break it would have to be Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein) aka Mrs Maisel's (Rachel Brosnahan) talent manager. From the time Susie was first introduced on the show, the street-smart manager was portrayed as a tough, hard-shelled woman who has worked hard all her life but is yet to reap the rewards for her efforts. But over the past few seasons, fans have begun noticing some subtle but major changes in the talent manager's personality.

The usually tough and outspoken Susie has mellowed down considerably as her career trajectory began moving in the upward direction. While she still struggles to juggle between managing her ever-demanding client Midge and trying to make some money, Susie's personal life improved for the better, thanks to her new roommate Jackie (Brian Tarantina). While she constantly complained about how annoying and irritating having Jackie around her cramped apartment, Susie couldn't deny the upgrades and the countless little things that he did around their apartment to make it more homely and liveable. While Susie was caught up with Midge's career drama, Jackie quietly passed away due to a stroke. When Jackie's sister Nancy informs the sad news of his demise to Susie, she was understandably shocked.

But what shocked Susie more than the news of her flatmate's passing was the realization of how highly he thought of her and him considering her to be his close friend. When Nacy revealed that her brother's final words were to Susie, she was left speechless. This sent Susie down the path of grief and sorrow. When the talent manager later went to collect some of Jackie's personal belongings that he had left behind, she was surprised to learn some interesting snippets about his life. After finding a bravery medal, letters from a woman named Darla, and some other personal artifacts belonging to Jackie, Susie realized that she barely knew the man who considered her to be his close friend.

This realization came down like a tonne of bricks upon her when she attended his memorial service and realized that there were just four attendees including her. In a fit of rage, Susie carried Jackie's photograph and crashed into another memorial service next door, and gave a moving speech about Jackie. She felt that more people needed to know Jackie and the amazing person he was. She felt bad that despite him being kind and thoughtful towards everybody throughout his life, nobody showed up for him to pay their final respects to him. She acknowledged how even though she thought she knew Jackie, she actually never knew who he was as a person or cared to learn more about him and his life.

Susie concluded her speech by vowing to dedicate her life to helping people like Jackie, the ones who never caught a break in life, the people who are always invisible and left behind and make sure that they never end up at her apartment. She also touched on how unfair life is that despite Jackie being a war veteran with a medal of bravery, he ended up in her small apartment barely able to afford his share of the rent.

Yet again Susie managed to steal the scene with her personal growth and acute self-awareness. The ability of Susie to think beyond herself and get in touch with her sensitive side during tough times, and grieve so deeply over the loss of a beloved friend just goes on to show how far she has come in life. We can't wait to watch Susie's personal growth and triumphs.

'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
