'The Mandalorian' Season 2 adds Timothy Olyphant, fans want him to cradle Baby Yoda and play Reed Richards
It does look like 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 is in full swing. Cast updates have been steadily flowing in and the recent development is Timothy Olyphant joining the franchise. The 'I Am Number 4' star is joining the series but his role is yet to be revealed.
Fans, on their part, seem mighty excited at the prospect of seeing Olyphant sharing screen space with Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal). "Olyphantasic" wrote a fan. "He’s a badass," seconded another fan on Twitter. "Whatever the role, he better be wearing a space hat," a fan tweet read.
One of the fans felt there are going to be a lot more names. "Certainly feels as if we're going to be hearing about a few more bigger name guest stars the further they get into post-production." While his role is yet to be disclosed, fans don't really care as the only news that mattered was Olyphant being part of the cast. "Don't care who he's playing, this is great casting," a fan opined. With this news, Olyphant joins a string of new faces in Season 2 including Rosario Dawson (reportedly Ahsoka Tano), Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan) and Michael Biehn.
Here's a fan who wanted Olyphant to cuddle Baby Yoda on the show: "How dare twitter scare me about Timothy Olyphant. Now I'm just going to be sad until I see him cuddle Baby Yoda though." This was seconded by another fan who said: "I just... want to see... Timothy Olyphant... cradle The Child... plz... hold the baby... #TheMandalorian."
And this tweet comes from a fan who was genuinely pleased to watch Olyphant be part of the hit Disney+ series. "Timothy Olyphant is legitimately one of my favorite actors in all of cinema. The fact that he’s going to be in The Mandalorian is awesome!" the fan tweeted.
'The Mandalorian' Season 2 isn't Marvel content, but that hasn't stopped this fan from hoping that he'd get to see Olyphant in the MCU soon. "I fucking love that Timothy Olyphant is gonna be in this. As many things he's been in he's still underrated. Who knows, maybe they'll cast him as Reed Richards next?"
'The Mandalorian' Season 2 will return on Disney+ this October.
