'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Greef Karga to Moff Gideon, who is likely to die in the finale?

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 is set to draw its curtains on December 18 and the finale promises some major action. As the countdown for the series finale begins, there will also be that hollow feeling of which character might bite the dust in the last chapter. Last season saw the deaths of Kuill and IG-11, both sacrificing their lives to protect the child, now known as Grogu. This season will surely see some losses as well and ahead of the finale, here's a look at the possible deaths.

Greef Karga

Carl Weathers as Karga (Disney+)

Introduced in Season 1, Carl Weathers' Karga has been instrumental in helping Mando and Grogu. His biggest adventure this season was at Navarro and as the team mounts their final defense against Moff Gideon, Karga just might be one of the casualties of war. This of course, like the rest of the character deaths we're thinking, is pure speculation. Should Karga indeed die, it would leave fans devastated as Weathers has done a stellar job with the character.

Cara Dune

Quite unlikely, now that there's a Rangers of the New Republic spinoff in the works. Adding to this is Carano's tease ahead of Season 2. "When we were filming, [executive producers] Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni told me a secret about my character that’s going to put me in tears. I was like, ‘Wow, that’s huge. I can’t believe it!’ They were very selective about giving us information, but I was blown away when I found out this particular news."

Further adding to the theory was her cryptic tweet earlier this year. "I love the heroes in this business. To the cast and crew of #TheMandalorian, you all are rock stars and it’s been a pleasure to work beside you. You all know who you are," she wrote on March 7. So will it be Cara's end? Only time will tell.

Fennec Shand

Although shown to be dead in Season 1, it was revealed that Shand (Ming-Na Wen) was rescued by Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and is now fighting alongside Mando in his mission to rescue Grogu. She might be one of the characters to make an exit in Season 2.

Moff Gideon

The supreme evil has to be snuffed out at some stage and Gideon has been the perfect villain. The episode will be a fitting finale if he were to die, but also set the wheels in motion for something far more evil for Mando and Grogu to combat.
