On June 6, South Korean band BTS revealed that they have donated $1M to Black Lives Matter. In just 24 after this, their fanbase called One in an Army used the fandom's collective power to make a difference and raised $1,026,531. #MatchAMillion began trending on Twitter after it was reported that BTS has donated $1M. The money that the charity fundraising group 'One In An ARMY' collected was donated to "bailouts those arrested for protesting police brutality", black-led advocacy organizations fighting against systemic injustice and to support the physical and mental health of the black community, their statement said.

"ARMY You #MatchedAMillion It's really amazing to see so many of you coming together to support #BlackLivesMatter. Thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared, used the hashtag and helped by any means to make this possible!" the collective tweeted. On his show tonight, James Corden also thanked all 35,609 donors and the entire fanbase for raising this large an amount for the cause of Black Lives Matter. So in order to thank the fans, Corden treated them with an unseen clip from the time that Jin, Jimin, RM, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga and V appeared on Carpool Karaoke. The army was overwhelmed on seeing the boys together. "THANK YOU PAP'A MOCHI FOR THE CUTE BABY SHARK ACAPELLA," tweeted a fan. "I never knew I needed a video of BTS singing a remix of Baby Shark but here we are.
