This story contains major spoilers for Season 1 finale of 'The L Word: Generation Q' titled 'Lapse in Judgement'

When Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig) returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of the series, she was running away from something that she hadn't disclosed yet. We soon found out that Shane had separated from her wife Quiara Thompson (Lex Scott Davis) - the reason behind which was still unknown. Only when Quiara just shows up at her surprise birthday that it is revealed - Quiara wanted kids while Shane did not.

But Quiara shows up pregnant and then eventually - because Shane loves her wholeheartedly - she jumps in on the pregnancy and they get back together. Even so, Shane finds herself dubious of being fully on board. For instance, when they hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time, Shane can barely feel anything, her maternal instincts are too low.

In the season finale, Quiara suffers a miscarriage and while Shane is there for her, somewhere deep down, she is relieved. But Quiara is furious and she walks out on Shane throwing away the ring she gave her saying: "No one will ever love you."

Quiara expected a lot from Shane, proved by her decision to suddenly show up pregnant despite knowing that Shane doesn't want children. In addition to that, she also suggested that Shane doesn't care about anyone else but her, which is wrong as thousands of fans will attest to the fact that Shane has been the best friend of them all. "It's not been highlighted as much in this series, but in the original, Shane was the best friend of all of them. To suggest she doesn't care about anyone but herself is insane," pointed out a fan. "If anything, Shane cares too much about other people and always prioritizes their wants over hers," added another.

"Shane and Quiara are a mess and that break up needed to happen. Next season let’s let Shane be Shane pls and thank you," added a fan.

But just as things were getting dismal for Shane, she decides to adopt a homeless dog, a pit bull at that too! If we were to weigh in, the adopted dog suits her personality.

And her fans are here for it too. "I love Shane and homeless dog. Shane and homeless dog forever!" squealed a fan. "Oh also I love that GQ prioritizes visibility for underrepresented communities and that officially now includes pit bulls. That dog was just a doll face in the back seat of Shane’s car," added another.
