This story contains major spoilers for 'The L Word: Generation Q' episode 5 titled 'Labels'

Showtime released the final segment of the last episode of 'The L Word: Generation Q' titled 'Labels' - the scene where Dani (Arienne Mandi) breaks down in front of Bette (Jennifer Beals), opening up to her about her father being, quite literally, a d**k. Earlier in the episode, Dani's father Rodolfo (Carlos Leal) sends her and her fiance Sophie (Rosanny Zayas) a prenup that states that if Sophie gives birth to a child, they won't be able to claim Dani's family's money; on the other hand, if Dani births children, they will a part of the Nunez family trust.

While Sophie doesn't mind signing the document, Dani wants to handle this in her own way. So after barging into her father's office premises and one shouting match later, they walk out on him staunch that they won't be signing any prenup.

Back in their car, Sophie earnestly requests Dani to reveal what happened and to share what is going on in her mind and how she feels. But Dani has already crawled back into her shell and refuses to share anything. This brings Sophie back to the issue that Dani is secretive and, after the previous episode, we think this might eventually lead to a rift between them.

At the end of the episode, in order to avoid going back home, having to confront Sophie and listen to her constant urging about opening up, Dani goes to the office. Done for the day, Bette is ready to leave, but when she sees Dani, they have the heartbreaking conversation about what had happened. It is a delicate scene where a vulnerable Dani tells how hurt she is - opening up to Bette, who is technically her boss, and not her fiance.

This is what has led fans of the show have suspicions about Bette and Dani moving beyond the professional space - and if you have watched 'The L Word' enough, you know what we mean by "moving beyond the professional space".

"I ship them so hard!!! I think Bette is the perfect person to Dani, with her she can open up and be herself," wrote a fan. "How about you two move a little bit further? God! I ship them so hard. The way Bette smiles while walking towards her and then she gets really worried. Pls make them happen, please," wrote another fan.

Fans have been hoping that they get together since Shane's (Katherine Moennig) birthday party when Dani and Bette shared a moment. "The way Dani looked at Bette in Shane's party then this scene now where she opened up to Bette but is unable to open up to Sophie, there's really something. Age is just a number. Love is love!" noted another fan.

We can't tell how the makers of the show will take this plot forward - especially since any kind of non-professional relationship between the two would reflect poorly on a post-Weinstein Hollywood. What do you think?

'The L Word: Generation Q' airs on Sundays at 10/ 9c on Showtime.
