Netflix’s ‘The Great British Baking Show’ has been a balm for the soul for many around the world, in troubling times, especially during a difficult year like 2020. Those relying on the feel-good show to get them through this year's Christmas and be safe at home will be happy to know that ‘Great British Baking Show’ will be back on Netflix with all-new episodes.

While these seasons are new to American audience, they were actually released in the United Kingdom in 2019 as two episodes, ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off’ and ‘The Great New Year's Bake Off’.

Release Date

'The Great British Baking Show: Holidays’ Season 3 premieres on Netflix on December 4, Friday.

Plot

Eight returning bakers, iconic past contestants as well as stars of a beloved Irish Netflix comedy ‘Derry Girls’ compete against each other to make the best Yuletide treats for judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the third season of this Netflix original. For the first episode, four past 'Baking Show' contestants return: Tom and Yan from 2017, Briony and Terry from 2018 and British rockers Status Quo. The second episode will have five cast members from the show 'Derry Girls'.

Cast

Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will take the judges' seats. Prudence Margaret Leith, 80, is a British-South African restaurateur, chef, caterer, television presenter/broadcaster, businesswoman, journalist, cookery writer and novelist. She is chancellor of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Leith was married to author Rayne Kruger from 1974 until his death in December 2002.

Paul Hollywood (54) started his career at his father's bakery as a teenager and went on to serve as head baker at a number of hotels around Britain and internationally. In August 2019, Hollywood split from 24-year-old girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam, ending a two-year relationship.
