'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition' premiere has fans wondering why they never saw the show before

The series premiered on Thursday night on ABC, and while the original show, is known all over the world, fans claim they had no idea that there was an American series by the same name.

'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition' premiered on Thursday night with its two-hour special, and fans are shocked claiming they didn't know that there was a competition as such. 

It's 'Cake and Bread Week' on 'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition'. The series premiered with its first episode which is a part of its four-week special that will come to an end on January 2, 2020. 

The series will feature 10 aspiring bakers hailing from all over the country. They will battle it off against each other with a bake-off in the famous white tent. 'The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition' is hosted by Spice Girl, Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice and former NFL Chicago Bears defensive tackle Anthony 'Spice' Adams. 

Three-time James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Sherry Yard and expert baker and bestselling cookbook author Paul Hollywood will be returning to the tent to judge the delicious treats the bakers will create. They will also help the bakers with advice on their skills and baking. 

The series premiered on Thursday night on ABC, and while the original show, 'The Great British Baking Show' is known all over the world, fans claim they had no idea that there was an American series of the same. 

Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "There is a Great American baking show omg where have I been." Adding to that another said, "Okay why has no one told me about the great American baking show ???!!" 

"There's a Great American Baking Show???," a fan wrote. While another shared, "I just found "The Great American Baking Show". It's not nearly as good as the British Bake Off which I've been binging lately for the 2nd time. Desperate times..."
