The upcoming Episode 3 of 'The Good Doctor' Season 4 sees new residents arrive at St Bonaventure must the existing doctors trying to grapple under the current influx of ever-soaring Covid-19 cases. But despite older, more experienced residents in the vicinity, Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) thinks Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) is best suited to train the new residents. It's a little absurd that she would find Shaun the best suited and Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper) points out her unusual choice too. Why does Lim think Shaun is the most equipped for the job? The answer comes in the promotional teaser for the episode where both Lim and Lea explain why Shaun would be the best boss for the titular 'Newbies'.

The official synopsis for Episode 3 details: "With several candidates vying for residency at St. Bonaventure, Lim tasks Shaun, Claire and Alex with mentoring the top first-year resident contenders; Shaun inadvertently insults Lea while discussing the pros and cons of a controversial surgery." The synopsis lays down the foundation of the episode and doesn't reveal much about Lim's decision when it comes to Shaun, but in the teaser, we see Marcus approaching her with doubts surrounding her choice.

Lim explains her choice by saying, "Murphy's smart, brutally honest, has no social convention." Marcus retorts asking if she thinks this qualifies him to supervise first years before the clip immediately teases an interaction between Shaun and the resident applicants where he asks one of them if they have a boyfriend, and another one comments how this might not be the most appropriate workplace question.

The trailer then shows Lea surrounded by Shaun's colleagues, or maybe it is a fraction of the group of first year residents, to whom she enthuses that at least they know they will have an extremely honest boss. The trailer also teases a sketchy surgery table situation where the patient's B is dropping mid-surgery, and immediately after, Lim can be seen saying how people will die. Whether this is about the in the general pandemic situation that they are trying to tackle or Shaun's training faltering isn't quite sure, but since when has Lim ever been wrong, right? Shaun has to be the right fit for the job if she thinks so!

'The Good Doctor' Season 4 airs on Mondays at 10 pm only on ABC.
