Why did 'The Conners' Season 3 Episode 4 not air? Here's when it returns next and what to expect
Right into the onset of its third season, the 'Roseanne' spinoff 'The Conners' took its first-ever random, mid-season break. Not to be confused with the original winter/mid-season break which happens during the holidays. This was more of a random ABC break, where the network decided to allow its sitcoms a dip in the middle, and the spinoff was one of the shows, with ABC's 'Black-ish' also taking the backseat from its regular air time slot. While most were left shocked, others who were eagerly waiting for laughs and gags and more pandemic crisis averted the ideal way, were greeted with a whole award ceremony as ABC aired the 2020 Country Music Awards on the night of November 11, during the primetime telecast, thus shelving 'The Conners'.
Worry not though, 'The Conners' is not on an indefinite hiatus or done for the season, as the official ABC website still has the fourth episode listed for the upcoming Wednesday, November 18. Titled 'Birthdays, Babies and Emotional Support Chickens', Season 3 Episode 4 will focus around the birthday of none other than Beverly Rose, with its fair few share of the crisis. As detailed by the synopsis, "It's Beverly Rose's first birthday -- but it's not all cake and candles -- when Becky and Emilio disagree on what kind of party they should have; Jackie is introduced to someone who wants to be more than friends."
Becky and Emilio are probably going through what every new couple of parents go through when it comes to their child; their disagreement could range between anything from the party theme to the number of invitees given the pandemic situation in the show's current timeline. It is however Jackie's little bit of news that has us excited, considering the last time someone wanted to be more than just her friend, was Booker from Wellman Plastics - Jackie's 'George Clooney lookalike' supervisor slash beau, played by Clooney himself. Booker was recently addressed in the season premiere not all that long ago, so could it be that while the classic throwback is still fresh in our memories, the show bosses are throwing more drama in between the two? If fans lost their shit at the flashback to Clooney's character on a bowling alley date with Jackie, imagine the thrill should the character were to really return!
'The Conners' Season 3 Episode 4 will air on Wednesday, November 18, at 9 pm on ABC.
