He had been an ordinary performing arts school student in Miami until he went ahead and auditioned for this role of young Chiron on the insistence of his teacher Tanisha Cidel, who played the character of a principal in the critically acclaimed film.
2. He thinks of his ‘Moonlight’ co-actor Mahershala Ali as his second father
