'The Challenge' winners Johnny and Jenny take home $500,000 but upset fans call it 'most boring final ever'
MTV-backed 'The Challenge: Total Madness' came to a rather underwhelming end. Even though Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio and Jennifer West won it fair and square, fans are not impressed with how the final task panned out. The contestant had to just climb a steep mountain. Sure it wasn't easy for them as it was snowing and the cold wind was making it worse, but viewers claim it was not good TV called it "boring".
"It was cold, snow, long grueling, etc... but honestly, it was such a boring final to watch. It just was not TV friendly. I feel like MTV just tortured them for no reason because it was so lackluster for us to watch. Anyone else feel that way? #TheChallenge35 #TheChallenge," a fan commented. Another shared: "@ChallengeMTV this is the most anti-climatic final I’ve ever watched I hope y’all take this time in between seasons to revamp this show the fans are tired #TheChallenge35."
It may not have been a dramatic, thrilling, pulse-pounding finale but to make such a tough climb and that too after a grueling first day of finals takes a lot. The fans may not have enjoyed the final episode of 'The Challenge: Total Madness' but for Bananas and Jenny, it was a huge relief because they had begun to doubt themselves and their capacity to win the show.
It was Bananas' seventh win and Jenny's first. So, it was special for both of them. But fans don't seem to be convinced at all about the challenge the winners aced to win half a million dollars each. "Okay this season was actually really shitty the daily challenges were boring to watch and the final was boring #TheChallenge35," a viewer expressed, while another echoed: "The. Most. Boring. Final. EVER. #TheChallenge35."
"The way this was the most anti-climatic boring final I’ve ever witnessed. 1 million dollars for this ??? #TheChallenge35," a viewer asked. "That has got to me the most boring finale I’ve watched. We seriously just watched them climb a mountain. I want my minutes back #thechallenge35," another claimed.
Whatever the reactions may be, congratulations are in order for Bananas and Jenny for sealing such a well-deserved win. Kaycee Clark and Kyle Christie stood the second place, while Cory Wharton and Faysal Shawn 'Fessy' Shafaat followed after.
