'The Boys' Season 3 finally ended one humdinger of a run. It was a win-win for the supes and the boys this time around. Or at least for now. The hit Amazon Prime Video series has never shied away from killing off major characters on the show, and after teasing the death of Jessie T Usher's A-Train, and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), it does end up killing quite a few yesteryear supes. In what comes as the final act of rebuilding the Seven, Homelander (Antony Starr) kills Noir - one of his trusted lieutenants.

It's another gory death as the leader of the Seven punches Noir in the stomach making sure the guts spill out. Literally. It doesn't help that Noir's death is grisly and graphic. That he killed the silent assassin never came as a surprise after the previous episode revealed that Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) was Homelander's father, and Noir, despite knowing it, kept the information a secret. This angers the psychotic supe who kills Noir and later threatens his remaining team members, The Deep (Chace Crawford) and A-Train, to stay away from him.

'The Boys' Season 3 Episode 7 Review: Soldier Boy, Homelander's father-son reveal sets tone for epic finale

With Noir dying, the episode finally makes sure that Homelander is finally left without a team. With A-Train and The Deep pretty much the faces of a disgraced Vought, their scattered and scanty fanbase leaves their storyline open. The next season will surely see a string of new superheroes teaming up with Homelander. With congresswoman Victoria Neuman now in a VP position, only time will tell if she uses the Seven for her unknown, yet sinister-feeling purpose. Noir's death also signals the death of all the supes part of Soldier Boy's team. The only difference? The son of a legend kills one of the more iconic supes.

'The Boys' Season 3 Episode 8 is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
