Supersonic was the second major character to die in 'The Boys' Season 3. Miles Gaston Villanueva's Alex was supposed to be the newest super ushered into the Seven, only to have a short-lived career as a super. Homelander (Anthony Starr) claims his latest victim after learning that he was on the crosshairs of not just the members of his own team, but also of the boys as well with Starlight (Erin Moriarty) assisting Hughie.

Killing off the latest member of the team was Homelander's way of making a statement, and by giving away a temporary Compound V vial to Victoria Neuman, who in turn gives it to his daughter. While the reason is unknown, it surely could be to use the supe's support and fend off the threat from the boys and his own team.

'The Boys' Season 3 Episode 2: Does Stormfront's suicide send Homelander into a spiral?

Alex was a contestant on the Vought show 'American Hero' to become a part of The Seven. He and Starlight re-kindled a friendship since they had known each other since they were teenagers. Over the course of the season,  Starlight tells Supersonic that he was going to be chosen and be part of the Seven, but should turn the offer down since Homelander was volatile, However, Supersonic still decides to accept the position to join The Seven to be her ally.

Supersonic's death also suggests that Homelander will not hesitate to kill one of the boys in order to prove a point. He was ready to laser Hughie before Starlight intervenes, but the former is already disappointed with being normal and powerless to stand up to the actual villain. Using the temp Compound V, he's able to neutralize a threat in their hunt for Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), but surely he'll need more than speed and superhuman power to stop Homelander. The series has not been shy to kill off major characters and Hughie could just be one of the casualties this time around.

'The Boys' Season 3 Episode 4 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
