What is the plot of 'The Bequeathed'?
One of storytelling's most enduring takeaways is 'never live next to a graveyard (animal or otherwise)'; no good can come of it. It is an adage that Yoon Seo-ha finds to be all-too-true when she inherits a 'mountain' after the death of a barely-known uncle. The mountain is home to a cemetery and as Yoon ignores every horror movie red flag she finds herself living with more than just the remains of the dead, but dark secrets buried in the past that threaten to emerge and shatter the present.

Kim Hyun-joo
There are K-drama stars and then there's Kim Hyun-joo. From the time she began her career in 1999's 'Haet-bit Sok-eu-ro', Kim has delivered performances that have made her a South Korean icon and every creator's dream actress. 'Haet-bit Sok-eu-ro' was followed by 'Miss Kim's One Million Dollar Request', 'Boys Over Flowers' and the massive hit series 'Twinkle, Twinkle' and 'What's with This Family'. In 2021 she burst into the global arena as Min Hye-jin in Netflix's superb 'Hellbound'.
Park Hee-soon
Park Hee-soon made his name in South Korean movies, but he has left an indelible mark on the K-drama genre too, starring in acclaimed hits like 'All About My Romance' and the outstanding 'Beautful World' in 2019. He also starred opposite Kim Hyun-joo, Jung Taek-hyun and Seo Jung-yeon in the lauded series 'Trolley'.
Is 'The Bequeathed' worth watching?
We are expecting quite a lot from this series, and not without reason: The show's creator Yeon Sang-ho wrote and directed 'Hellbound' and 'Train to Busan' (which in our opinion is among the best zombie films ever made in any language). If Yeon can make 'The Bequeathed' even half as good as those two then viewers are in for an absolute treat.
