With dates cards going around, the men on Season 18 of 'The Bachelorette' are all hoping to get to spend some alone time with Michelle Young. While group dates can be entertaining, it is a solo date card that each of the men hopes to get, as it allows them to work on and build a more lasting connection with Michelle, as they then have her undivided attention.

The first person to score a solo date card happened to be Jamie. Although it didn't quite sit right with the other men about how he bragged about his lifestyle, the two went on a rock climbing date followed by a picnic. For Michelle, it was a whole new experience, because Jamie came across as the type who encouraged and coached her through it, seeing that she has mostly been at the giving end of this scenario.

During their conversation, Jamie even opened up about his past, as he told Michelle that he had a much different upbringing than her. His mother had him when she was 18 and while the initial years of his life were a happy one, by the time he was in middle school, his mother had attempted suicide. His schooling was gravely affected, as he found himself having to take care of her. When he was 24, his mother committed suicide and it crushed him. But in the face of adversity, Jamie decided that it was important to live his life and continued to do so. Michelle was in tears on learning his story and was proud of him for having come so far. Fans too were supportive of Jamie.

"Wow what a heavy weight that Jamie is carrying with him. I feel so bad for him & I hope him happiness in his future  #Bachelorette #TheBachelorette #TheBacheloretteABC #BachelorNation" tweeted a fan. "I’m blown away by Jamie right now. His ability to share so eloquently really did it for me, so composed and seemed like his true feelings #Bachelorette" added another. "Incredibly difficult story to hear from Jamie. He has an impressive sense of comfort w/ the retelling of these tragedies which just speaks to how hard he worked towards getting over those humps. Unbelievable strength shown. No witty jokes. Just so much respect. #Bachelorette" stated another. "Jamie is such an incredible and strong human. I am so touched by his story. Thank you for sharing Like Michelle said, I am so proud of you. You’ve worked through so much. #Bachelorette #BacheloretteABC #TheBachelorette" tweeted a fan.

However, just when Jamie had won fans and Michelle over, he exposed a completely different side to himself. After Joe received a rose during a drop date, Jamie took it upon himself to stir the pot. He began telling the group about how a friend of his had spotted Michelle at a bar with a 'tall, light skinned' man, implying that it was Joe. Although the group didn't respond, Jamie continued with his story and even went as far as to tell Michelle that the group was gossiping about this and that they doubted her, when it was not the case at all. Michelle was visibly upset over the whole incident while Jamie blatantly lied about the group bringing up the topic when it was him that went on about it repeatedly.

Fans were shocked and appaled with his behaviour. "not Jamie sitting here bold face lying smh do they just forget that cameras are everywhere #bachelorette" tweeted a fan. "Jamie: There’s been a bunch of talk today… Reality: I’ve been gossiping to all the guys… #BacheloretteABC #Bachelorette" added another. "jamie why you doin this,,, bruh…… get out of here we liked you and now you are out here gossiping and bringing it up NOW? when you knew this whole time? nahhhhh he’s full of bullshit #bachelorette" said another. "Jamie you do care. Stop lying! You need to be authentic and say you’re insecure and jealous. Say it’s YOU not the rest of the men saying shit. #Bachelorette" argued a fan.

Although Michelle confronted the group, she did not disclose who told her this information, leaving the rest of the men without a chance to defend themselves and be honest with her. However, seeing that Jamie had already received a rose and Michelle did not know what was happening, Jamie was safe. During the rose ceremony, Alec, PJ, Pardeep and Daniel were sent home. But the group is still determined to find out who created the issue, to begin with.
