‘The Bachelorette’: Clare sends Brandon Goss home for not ‘researching’ about her, fans say she's being 'extra'

When Clare went on a date with Brandon Gross, she asked what he likes the most about her, all Brandon could muster was 'You’re gorgeous'

Almost all episodes of ‘The Bachelorette’ are as dramatic as its host Chris Harrison always portrays it to be but it seems like on October 20, the drama went up a notch higher. There were emotions, nudity, tiffs and everything one wishes to witness on a love-based reality show.  

One could see the bachelorette Clare Crawley, who until now seemed to have found her ultimate partner in Dale, was also getting along with her other suitors. Following a couple of dates, the 39-year-old even noted that she realized how there are many among them whose interests match with hers. In order to make Blake feel better when he opened up about his insecurities, Clare went ahead and gave him a rose. She also spent an ample amount of time with Jason Foster and toward the end of their first date, burned the dress she had worn during the finale of Juan Pablos’s season of ‘The Bachelor’. However, just when it seemed like she was able to look beyond Dale and give other men a chance at love with her, one of the suitors ticked her off. 

When Clare went on a date with Brandon Gross, the 28-year-old real estate agent from Cleveland Ohio, she asked what he likes the most about her. Perhaps, she was expecting a deeper answer driven by emotions, but all Brandon could muster was “You’re gorgeous”. 

Clare pushed him further and asked what about her made him participate in the present season of ‘The Bachelorette’. Brandon seemed clueless for a moment before saying he didn’t know much about her until he met her on the show and would like to use the opportunity to earn more about her. This didn’t serve Clare well, who went on to say that every other suitor on the show had done enough research and learned about her before coming on the show. The next thing we know, she’s asking Brandon if she can walk him out. He’s eliminated and sent home soon after. 

Clare’s decision to send Brandon home was soundly criticized on Twitter as fans of the show have called her out for her “rude” behavior. One tweeted, "Claire is crazy and RUDE..there is a reason she is still single. She was ugly to Brandon, she be ashamed! If you want a man..try being nice and respectful!#TheBachelorette". Adding to the precious tweet another wrote, "Let me get this straight. Clare sends home Brandon because he said he signed up for the show because he thought she was beautiful. This is right after Clare made half of the men on the date strip down naked and gawked at all of them. #TheBachelorette."

Another viewer tweeted, "Clare was kind of rude when she sent Brandon home. Just because he doesn’t know her yet? She fishes for too many compliments. I think she’s just looking to make a point she’s a “strong woman” We get it. #TheBachelorette". One tweeted, "Omg Claire’s reaction is so extra ... seriously wow wtf is happening. She’s rude ! Brandon did nothing wrong. #TheBachelorette. I wouldn’t let her walk me out."

 ‘The Bachelorette’ airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
