'She’s a class act': 'The Bachelor' Season 28 fans praise Maria Georgas for backing Sydney Gordon amid online hate
AGOURA HILLS, CALIFORNIA: 'The Bachelor' Season 28 contestants Maria Georgas and Sydney Gordon were involved in a dramatic feud in the last few episodes.
Sydney called Maria a 'bully', and 'devil' and claimed to feel tortured by her. Although Joey eliminated Sydney, she received online hate and needed to turn off her comment section.
Despite Sydney's onscreen behaviour, Maria defended her amid online hate. Maria took to her Instagram Stories and shared a group photo in which she posed with Sydney.
Alongside the photo, Maria wrote, "We are all watching together at the same time." She further noted, "Things I'm seeing are new to me as well and are hard to watch but please during this time, don't send any hate to anyone."
Maria claimed, "Things will come to light as soon as they can I promise you that so just remember PEACE LOVE AND POSITIVITY."
Maria's Instagram Story was shared on Reddit and her fans who praised her for her 'too nice' behaviour.
A social media user said, "I wasn’t a fan at first but after watching her being bullied and handling all of it so well I’m very impressed by her."
Another person added, "LITERALLY LOL also Maria seems like the kind of girl you wouldn't want to f**k with 😂 It's kinda more impressive to me that she's being SO forgiving about this lol. She's going easy on them."
Another fan suggested, "She’s being too nice." Another follower penned, "She’s a class act. Love her."
Another social media user penned, "She’s a better woman than me. From being called verbally abusive, gaslighter, a bully and compared to the devil to finding out another woman was confronted for simply being nice to you, it’s a lot for one person to take and still try to navigate it gracefully."
'The Bachelor' Season 28 star Sydney Gordon receives death threats
'The Bachelor' Season 28 alum Sydney Gordon received extreme online hate but she decided to slam back at her haters after it became intolerable. She took to her Instagram and played an audio message that she received from viewers.
In one of the voice clips, a critic told Sydney, "You are a f*****g b***h, you're a skank."
Meanwhile, another person said in the clip, "You are as low, and gross, and scummy as they come."
Sydney claimed in the video, "Every time I open up Instagram, TikTok, I am constantly reminded off all the insecurities that it took me so long to overcome." She added, "To hear, 'You’re ugly' [and] 'You look like a man,' it almost feels like I went back to square one."
She also claimed that she had even been told she would be "better off dead." She elaborated on the online hate, "People struggle with ideation. That is something that should not be taken lightly."
She added, "That is not something that we should be joking about." She insisted, "We as a society need to be better, we need to do better, we deserve better."
However, Sydney did admit that "there are certain things" that she would have done 'differently' on the ABC show. She shared, "I can't speak of details of the show but I can say there are certain things I wish I did differently, and there are things I wish I didn't say."
