'The Alienist: Angel of Darkness' was off to a promising start as it saw the trio of Dr Lazlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl), Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning) and John Moore (Luke Evans) as they attempted to investigate an infant kidnapping case. The season opener saw Kreizler still reeling from the death of Martha Napp and her baby who was found dead in the final minutes of the episode. In what comes across as a slick move by the criminals, the dead baby was actually on display in a store.

This led to the three characters taking a keen interest and the second episode sees the investigation underway. The upcoming episode titled 'Something Wicked' sees the take on their own routes of investigation. The official synopsis according to TNT reads: "Sara uncovers a clue at the Cooper-Siegel Department store that leads them to dangerous territory. Moore struggles to balance his personal and professional life as he investigates a link to New York's criminal underworld. Kreizler suspects dark goings-on at the Lying-In hospital, while former police chief, Thomas Byrnes plots against their investigation."

Looking at Moore, it is easy to see Violet (Emily Barber) is not happy with the way he works as he seldom stays longer at social events. It does appear this problem has trickled down to the second episode as well. Byrnes has always been a man ready to land a punch and with him lurking around, there are some repercussions that can be expected. The star of Episode 1 was Fanning as Sara and she's taken keen interest and responsibility in find the missing Linares baby.

With Moore and Kreizler coming in as integral pieces in the kidnapping case, 'Something Wicked' is all set to show the audience some deeper conspiracy that has been hatched. With the kidnapper adopting some unique methods of painting the baby's eyes before killing, Kreizler will be keen to figure out the logic behind while Moore will be looking at any leads that drop his way.

What are your thoughts on the synopsis of 'Something Wicked'?
