LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 8 aired on Disney+ on July 16, 2024, and the sci-fi 'Star Wars' series came to a stunning conclusion in the finale that left the audience wondering. Created by Leslye Headland, the show has received a mixed response from the audience but has still gone on to become popular.

The episode begins with Osha (Amandla Stenberg) feeling the power of the Cortosis helmet as she sees her sister Mae killing Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) without a lightsaber. Qimir (Manny Jacinto) asks her if she would want to be trained by him, an offer she declines. Meanwhile, Mae escapes the captivity of Sol and rushes away followed by Sol and Bazil (Hassan Taj).

Master Vernestra (Rebecca Henderson) and Senator Rayencourt discuss the unchecked power of the Jedi and their impossible obsession with controlling emotions. Rayencourt recommends an external review for the Jedi. Mae and Sol end up in Brendok where they are joined by Osha and Qimir. Master Sol is obsessed with proving Vergence on the planet.

With all back to where it started, can Master Sol survive the Stranger we know as Qimir? Will Osha get to know about Sol's past? Here we explain the end to this season of the show 'The Acolyte'.

The stranger and Sol have a confrontation where they both fight long and hard in an amazingly choreographed action sequence. Mae and Osha meet each other again. Osha tells Mae that she never could control her emotions and that is why she could never become a Jedi. Mae tells Osha that Sol killed Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith). This starts a battle between them as Master Vernestra also reaches Brendok.

Master Sol gets the better of the stranger when Mae intervenes and attacks Sol to save Qimir. Sol tells Mae about Vergence that created Mae and Osha and confesses to killing Mother Aniseya. Osha hears the confession.

Sol reasons with Osha but an angry Osha uses the Force to choke him. Sol's lightsaber turns red in Osha's hands. Vernestra reaches the planet as Mae leads Osha through a core tunnel that helped her escape as a child. Master Sol is dead as Vernestra whispers in his ear and apologizes to him.

Qimir tells Mae and Osha that the Jedi will ultimately find them as they finally reconcile and reunite. Qimir wipes Mae's memory and every trace of Osha as she agrees to train with Qimir if Mae is let go. Mae's memory is gone as the Jedi find her and take her to the Coruscant. Her last memory is from when she was eight years old.

Master Vernestra tells the Senate that Sol was a rogue Jedi who killed his accomplices to maintain a cover story for his actions of killing the witches on Brendok. Vernestra seeks Mae's help to find Qimir and Osha.

In the final scene of the episode, we see Master Vernestra talking to Master Yoda, who is partially seen in the frame. This wasn't the only character teased as we got a glimpse of someone who appears to be Darth Plagueis on the unknown planet where Qimir and Osha were. We might see more of these characters in the second season.

'The Acolyte' is streaming on Disney+.
