'The Acolyte': All the characters ranked, and why the new Sith Lord is nowhere near #1
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' started streaming on June 4, 2024 on Disney+. The 'Star Wars' adventure series had some exciting characters who had the potential to become favorites of the 'Star Wars' fanatics but many characters of the show were underwhelming like the overall show itself.
Created by Leslye Headland, the show tells the story of twins Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and her twin Osha who find themselves on opposite sides of the Force as Mae along with her masked master, who is later revealed to be Qimir (Manny Jacinto), tries to kill Jedi Masters, and Osha along with Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), does her best to protect the masters.
And Here's our ranking of the best characters of 'The Acolyte'.
1. Bazil
While most characters of the show did not impress the viewers, Bazil played by Hassan Taj was an unlikely character that became a fan-favorite. Bazil is a Tynnan who helps the Jedi prevent Mae from executing her killing.
The fans found the tiny character to be cute and courageous as he takes on Mae despite the size disadvantage and helps Master Sol gauge her true identity.
2. Kelnacca
Seeing a Wookie Jedi in live action was a dream for many fans of the 'Star Wars' series and it happened with Kelnacca played by Joonas Suotamo. The character became a darling for the fans instantly.
Fans however were disappointed when the character was unceremoniously killed early on in the series but they did get a glimpse of him in a couple of flashback sequences.
3. Qimir/The Stranger
Qimir is one of the more intriguing characters in the series played by Manny Jacinto. He starts as a jovial accomplice to Mae but is later revealed to be the Sith Lord.
The only reason he isn't among the top two characters for us is that he got less screen time as the Sith Lord and we could not get to explore his past much.
Manny Jacinto became a sought-after actor ever since he was revealed as the masked master of Mae and people were gushing over his chiseled body and amazing looks.
4. Master Sol
Master Sol is the quintessential good guy in the series played by Lee Jung-jae. He is morally upright but carries a past that includes some questionable actions.
The character and Lee's prowess in the action sequences were praised quite a lot by the viewers. In the opinion of some, he held the show together and we couldn't agree more.
5. Osha
Osha has a deep backstory that comes to the fore later in the series and the fans are divided on the character. In our opinion, we would have liked to see a lot more of her and felt that her psychology never really came out.
She is built as a skilled fighter but we see her in very few action sequences which was quite a disappointment.
6. Master Indara
Master Indara played by Carrie Anne-Moss is a character with a lot of wasted potential. The character could have become very popular if she was explored more as a character.
She dies in the first episode itself but returns in the flashback episodes. While we see a bit of her characteristics, we never really get to know her properly in the series.
7. Torbin
Portrayed by Dean Charles-Chapman, the character is the reason why the entire coven of witches coven was finished and perhaps the reason why the Dark Side began to rise.
His eagerness to return to the Coruscant was the reason behind Osha and Mae losing their family and he is one of the most irritating characters in the entire show.
8. Mae
Mae is among the most confused antagonists in the history of the 'Star Wars' universe and her character never really comes out. She goes on a killing spree only to abandon it later.
She incapacitated her sister and pretended to be Osha and despite getting countless opportunities she never killed Master Sol. Also, she fought Bazil so she automatically becomes our least favorite character in the show.
