Teenage boy accused of raping, murdering 6-year-old Alesha MacPhail says a woman was responsible for her death
A teenage boy who had been accused of raping and murdering a six-year-old girl on the Isle of Bute in Scotland is now blaming a woman for the crime. The body of Alesha MacPhail was found in the woods on the island in the Firth of Clyde on July 2, 2018.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied that he took her from her bed, assaulted her, and murdered her. The jury at the High Court in Glasgow heard on February 11 how Alesha's naked body was found in the grounds of the former Kyles Hydropathic Hotel located at Port Bannatyne.
The Daily Mail reported that the court was told the cause of death had been determined as "pressure to neck and face". The court was also told that a pair of discarded shorts, pants, and a vest were found close to the scene.
