Gear up for light-hearted comic relief with Seth MacFarlane's prequel of his hit franchise 'Ted'.

The series is set to premiere on January 11, 2024, on Peacock at 6 pm PT.

What is the plot of 'Ted'?

Set in 1993, the series depicts the early life of a sentient teddy bear toy named Ted. He lives with John Bennett and his family in Massachusetts. The prequel follows comic instances when Ted is forced to go to school with John.

The official synopsis reads, “It’s 1993 and Ted the Bear’s moment of fame has passed, leaving him living with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in a working-class Boston home with his parents and cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when it comes right down to it, he’s willing to go out on a limb to help his friend and his family.”

Who is the director of 'Ted'?

'Ted' is directed by Seth MacFarlane under the banner of Fuzzy Door Productions, MRC Television, Bluegrass Television, and Universal Content Productions. Seth has created the 'Ted' franchise and lends his voice to the titular character as well.

His filmography also includes 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' and 'Logan Lucky'.

Is 'Ted' worth watching?

'Ted', released in 2012, received positive reviews and was declared a box office success despite being made on a small budget. However, its sequel which came out in 2015, opened to mixed reviews and did average business.

If a cute stuffed toy can make you laugh after a tiring day, then this film is for you. Moreover, you don't need to watch the previous release before hopping on to the prequel series.

In a highly competitive market, this series will have a very selected niche and you'll have to choose if this one fits your list!
