Cruz's clap is eerily similar to Pelosi's, and there's no way one can miss the similarity considering the clap became a viral moment in 2019.

Ted Cruz seemed content with the GOP Senate majority winning in favor of President Donald Trump as they successfully blocked the Democrats' attempts to add additional witnesses to the Impeachment trial. The house voted 51-49 in favor on Friday and it is this that Cruz seemed to be celebrating while he was conversing with colleagues during recess.

A video of Cruz making a clapping gesture very similar to that of Nancy Pelosi during Donald Trump's State of the Union address has created quite a buzz, with many speculating whether Texas senator was mocking the house speaker.

Cruz's clap is eerily similar to Pelosi's, and there's no way one can miss the similarity considering the clap became a viral moment in 2019. Several memes of this iconic moment that stole the show from POTUS is still used by many on the internet. It is no surprise then that political strategist Caleb Hull took to Twitter to post the two videos -- of Pelosi and Cruz's hand claps -- to pose the question, "Who did it better? A) @tedcruz B) @SpeakerPelosi."

The reaction to this tweet has been quite hilarious as people picked between Cruz and Pelosi. A majority did think that Cruz's hand clap was quite good if he was trying to mock Pelosi while a few admitted that Pelosi was the winner as she just did it way better.

The closing comments from both the House impeachment managers and Trump's defense team will be made on Monday following which the Senate is likely to vote on Wednesday to decide if the president can be acquitted of charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Cruz's 'clapback' is not the first moment that went viral from the Impeachment trial. On Thursday there was a moment when it looked as if Democrats' representative of New York Jerrold Nadler seemed to be stealing the podium from Democrats' representative of California and the leading House Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff at the end of second day of questioning by the Senate jurors.
