'The Voice' star Tate Brusa says he exceeded personal goals before his exit: 'It was a good way to go out'
Last week's episode of 'The Voice' saw Tate Brusa make an exit from the show. The show has seen exceptionally talented artistes from across the country come on the show year after year but none were quite like this young artiste.
It is common knowledge that the reason why the singer had to quit the show was that he is still young and with his voice yet to mature, it wavered at times when he tried to hit certain notes, a very natural occurrence.
There was a huge uproar online following his exit from the show after Nick Jonas picked his opponent Roderick Chambers over him but the singer doesn't seem to hold any regrets and only looks back on his time on the show with sheer pride.
Before appearing on the show, Tate already had released a couple of his original compositions online and he aims to release new music soon according to his Instagram.
On being asked if there will be any collaborations with his fellow contestants, he told MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), "Yeah, of course, in the future maybe but I don't think on this project, this upcoming EP, there's gonna be any collaborations with other contestants."
"But maybe in the future, because there are a bunch of amazing songwriters that I got to sing with and a bunch of great people but I think maybe later in the year may be well once coronavirus clears up, we will be able to write a song together or something like that," he shared.
While he was one of the fan favorites and also a favorite mainly for coach Kelly Clarkson as well as his coach Nick Jonas who mentioned that he saw a lot of him in Tate, we asked him who is his favorite contestant. "Her name is Allegra Miles," he says quickly.
"She was also on Team Nick. And another guy Thunderstorm Artis, he is on Team Legend and Megan Danielle from Team Kelly Clarkson, yeah, I think those are my favorite people. We spent a lot of time together, so and they're very nice and very gifted artistes," he revealed.
We asked him if he expected his exit from the show as he was paired opposite power vocalist Roderick Chambers. Tate humbly responded with "Well I knew Roderick is an amazing singer, he did so well on his song and I was just lucky to be there at that point."
He also mentioned that he has absolutely no regrets, "I exceeded my personal goals and I feel like at that point after both of our performances, it was a good way to go out. It was a close one but I accepted my loss."
Reminiscing his time on the show, Brusa added, "I think just being able to spend time with the other contestants, like on sets, in the hotel, hanging out with them, it was pretty fun. You have a lot of time after filming, so you're hanging out with them and you hit the pool, singing together, its a lot of fun."
Brusa is also in touch with most of the contestants from his season, "They're very good friends of mine and I'll always be good friends with them and we call each other to check on each other once in a while," he said about Michael Williams, Levi Watkins, Jacob Miller and his other friends from the show.
The young singer is also a philanthropist at heart and he was in Kenya last summer for service work. On being asked further, he mentioned that he played concerts to raise money for underprivileged kids. He revealed that it was an "incredibly rewarding experience" to have had done something like that.
He concluded the chat with saying thanks to 'The Voice' for the opportunity and a message for his fans to check out for his new song 'Worth It' that comes out on May 9, 2020.
