'Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life': Braxton's problems unravel on TV, uncomfortable fans say she needs time to heal
The season premiere of 'Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life' aired tonight, September 10, and the episode featured Braxton go through a plethora of intense emotions. At one point the producers insisted that they'd like to shoot her even though she was having a "revelation" of sorts and her creative coach requested that she be left alone.
Tamar had attempted suicide in July this year and later on, in a lengthy Instagram post, hinted that WEtv took advantage of her over the past 11 years and exploited the honesty and authenticity she offered. Post this, WEtv sent out a statement that said they "will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network," according to a Variety report.
The network even pushed the release of the show by a couple of days after news of her hospitalization surfaced and when they announced the new premiere date, they also made it clear that they didn't plan to make any edits to the show to appease Braxton in any way.
The premiere episode saw Braxton in a state of vulnerability for most of the time. She had a huge argument with David when she suggested that they don't have sex for 45 days because her creative coach has advised the same in order for her to heal. She lost her singing voice right after producer J White set up a recording studio in her home for her to start recording new music.
She was also forced to deal with certain feelings, the ones that she had shoved away in the depths of her mind and soul, during the healing procedure with her coach Goli Samii. She was not comfortable with the cameras rolling while she was going through all these emotions and stormed out of the room but the crew still insisted that they needed to shoot her and this angered fans to no end.
"Even though Tamar put herself in this predicament this shouldn't be played out on tv for everyone to watch her life unravel. @WEtv #GetYaLife," tweeted a fan.
