'Tale of the Nine-Tailed' Episode 10: Lee Rang wants to cut off from Imoogi; Lee Yeon and Ji-ah blackmailed too
'Tale of the Nine-Tailed' Episode 10 will see Lee Rang (Kim Beom) approach Imoogi's (Lee Tae-ri) caretaker to ask that their contract be ended. He is, after all, alive because of tying his own life to this caretaker's, or so he believes. So if he wants to end the contract, he is informed that the only way to do so would be to kill his brother Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook). However, it is just recently that Lee Rang learned that his brother did not betray him nor did he abandon him. So he seems to be caught between a rock and hard place.
Similarly, Ji-ah (Jo Bo-ah) has something that she wants more than anything and that is to find her parents. It seems that the Imoogi and his caretaker may also be involved in her parents going missing because we now see the caretaker tell Ji-ah that there is a way she can find them. However, it will only work if she can sacrifice Lee Yeon. This deal is very similar to what Imoogi had given Ae Eum all those years ago when he had asked her to lead the way to the mountain spirit if she wanted the Imoogi to let go of her father's body. Last time around, Ae Eum had decided to trust Lee Yeon and invited the Imoogi to occupy her body so that she can direct the monster away from the palace.
However, the one thing that she hadn't expected was to be baited into sacrificing herself and being killed by Lee Yeon who struck her with his sword. We still do not know what happened during the fight between Lee Yeon and Imoogi in the past and have only seen snippets of the same. However, it looks like the Imoogi is still stooping to the same means of manipulating people by using their loved ones.
And finally, we see Lee Yeon come face to face with the Imoogi who gives Lee Yeon a chance to save the lives of everyone around him. Lee Yeon is informed that all he has to do would be to give his body up to the Imoogi. By sacrificing his body to the Imoogi, he will be able to save the life of both Lee Rang and Ji-ah and maybe even help her reunite with her missing family members. Will Lee Yeon, who has always put his brother and his lover before his safety fall for the trap or can he find a way out?
'Tale of the Nine-Tailed' will be aired on tvN on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10.30 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
