'Survivor: Island of the Idols': Dan's kicked out in a Survivor #MeToo first and fans say 'good riddance', but are appalled it wasn't done earlier

The most shocking moment was when Jeff Probst went back to camp to reveal that Dan will not return to the island.

Wednesday's episode of 'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39 revealed some shocking situations. Dan has been removed from the show for touching somebody inappropriately again despite being warned and fans are appalled that the series took so long to remove him, instead of removing him with Kelle, Janet and when the others complained about him. 

'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39 returned to our screens on Wednesday night, and though it was a sad moment to see Elaine being the one sent home after tribal council. The most shocking moment was when Probst came to camp the next day only to reveal that Dan will not return to the island. 

While the contestants were confused with Dan's disappearance, Probst said that Dan has been removed from the show, he will not return to camp, he will not be a part of the jury, and that he is gone back home after Dan had a private discussion with him. 

Though it wasn't revealed on the series, Kellee Kim who was eliminated earlier into the series took to Twitter to share her opinion and thoughts on tonight's episode. In the post, she revealed that Dan had been removed from the show because he had inappropriately touched someone else. In her post, she also added that CBS and Survivor had noticed Dan's behavior, and asked if fans had observed that just a short while after she spoke up about it, she was eliminated. 



 

After watching the episode and reading Kellee's post fans are appalled that the series kept Dan on despite previous concerns and that it took them another harassment to remove him from the show.  

Taking to Twitter a fan shared, "Wait, so CBS and production were made aware of Dan’s behavior since the very first days of the game?!?!?! And nothing was done?!?!?! Oh, I....." Adding to that another said, "Further, @JeffProbst and the rest of #Survivor production's shameless defense of their handling of Dan in the weeks following the Kellee episode knowing full well that they had to get rid of him for the same issue a few weeks later is disgraceful and falls well below their duty." 

"I've been looking through the #survivor tag.... Im happy Dan is gone, i just wish they’d done something about it earlier... that behavior is unacceptable. And from what ive seen on EW it seems like he thought it was unfair he was removed. Disgusting," wrote a fan. 

While another shared, "I don’t even understand how you give Dan the edit he got when you know what he did. It continues to prove that the powers that be at #Survivor STILL don’t get it. Please hire women & people of color. White men ruin everything."
