Right before the final and ultimate series finale of probably one of the biggest shows of its time - 'Supernatural', there was a finale retrospect that preceded the final episode and managed to leave fans teary-eyed and angry at the same time. Titled 'Supernatural: The Long Road Home', the retrospective special looked back at all the highlights of the series so far, laying special stress on the "brotherly love" between its characters. And that has left fans quite angry, as some believe that's definitely not what kept the show around, and others think its plain homophobic to still label Cas's feelings for Dean, as so.

The one-hour special focused on the prime elements of the show and relied heavily on montages, the way the penultimate episode did at the end of all the action. If you thought that was something, this special is going to hit you like a brick in the face and more. This honestly isn't surprising considering the fame and impact the show has amassed in its 15-year-long run. But at the same time, criticism has been piled on heavily too, and looks like the finale special is no exception.

Things were going far with fans enthusing on Twitter how much they are going to miss this show they have been invested in for so long, and then the series of montages focused on the brotherly love between its characters, touting it as the reason the show went on and on. Of course, some people agreed with the sentiments of the show, as they hyped on social media.

A fair chunk of viewers were however left jilted, as they took to Twitter to complain "SHUT THE F**K UP ABOUT BROTHERLY LOVE BOOOO GET OFF THE STAGE". Another wrote: "can they pls stop about the brotherly love bs being the heart of the show bc while it is important, it's not what kept the show around and we all know it #ThankYouSupernatural #Supernatural " A third one kept it short and crisp and just tweeted: "Oh. Of f**king course. 'BrOtHeRlY lOvE' #Supernatural i hate you."

Digging up the show's alleged homophobia, a fan even claimed: "this show is so homophobic they’re still pushing the brotherly relationship between dean and castiel when cas CONFESSED HIS GAY LOVE FOR HIM ????? THE HOMOPHOBIA REEKS #supernatural" For others, it wasn't the brotherly love so much of a problem, as was those applauding the concept of it on the show. "Let's be honest The assholes are the one ruining the brotherly bond. Not the show, I love S&D, they are amazing brothers. But I hate reading the comments about Sam&Dean because it's ALWAYS CREEPY. As someone with brothers, this has always creeped me the f**k out." To sum it up, n the words of a fan, "f**k ur brotherly love i want deancas."

'Supernatural: The Long Road Home' aired on Thursday, November 19, at 8 pm only on The CW.
