'Superman & Lois' casts Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang and fans are super excited over the 'great casting'
'The Passage' star Emmanuelle Chriqui is set to play the role of Lana Lang in The CW's upcoming show 'Superman & Lois'. Chriqui turn as a series regular opposite Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch has fans all excited about the casting.
One of the fans wrote, "CONGRATS! You are the new 'Lana Lang' on the "Superman and Lois" TV series. Truth be told I was hoping for a 'ginger' girl but another exotic dark-haired one will do. Following in Kristen Kreuk's footsteps - Best to you."
Another fan wrote, "Good casting. But why bring Lana Lang back? Superman (Clark Kent) is married to Lois in this continuity Post Crisis. But will see it may turn out for the best. Still looking forward to this series," and also added, "Sorry have not read too many comic book stories with Lana in them but loved her in #Smallville I hope she's brought back to the comics soon especially in Bendis run of Superman and Action. As for her in #SupermanAndLois will have to wait & see I guess but looking forward to it."
Pointing out that the casting was great for Chriqui, a fan said, "This is really good casting for Lana Lang. Especially based off the character description and what Lana will be dealing with when we start off the show. Emmanuelle is also a great actress. You Don’t Mess With The Zohan!"
The show is expected to pick up 13 years after the events of 'Crisis of the Infinite Earths', and the significant time jump is marked by Superman and Lois' twin sons Jonathan and Jordan celebrating their 13th birthday. Of the two sons, Jonathan will be the one to inherit his father's powers; the absence of any of his father's powers in Jordan will influence his character by bringing about a tinge of darkness.
Lana Lang's daughter will also be a part of the show, and will play Jordan's friend as the two of them share similar interests.
'Superman & Lois' is set to release some time in 2020 on The CW.
