Melissa McCarthy is starring in a sci-fi comedy that is coming to HBO Max later this year. What happens when an all-powerful Superintelligence chooses to study the most average person on Earth? This average person is played by McCarthy - Carol Peters. And now the fate of the world hangs in the balance. What is the AI's choice - enslave, save or destroy humanity? Plot

According to the official synopsis of the movie, "Nothing extraordinary ever happens to Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy), so when she starts getting snarky backtalk from her TV, phone and microwave, she thinks she's being punked. Or losing her mind. In fact, the world's first superintelligence has selected her for observation, taking over her life…with a bigger, more ominous plan to take over everything. Now Carol is humanity's last chance before this artificial intelligence-with-an-attitude decides to pull the plug."

In her role as Carol Peters, this is McCarthy's fourth collaboration with her husband, Falcone, who has directed the film. The Primetime Emmy Award winner McCarthy is best known for her role as Sookie St James on 'Gilmore Girls', Dena on 'Samantha Who?', as Molly Flynn on 'Mike & Molly', a role for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2011. Her appearances as a host on 'Saturday Night Live' also won her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2017. In 2016, she was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time.

British actor, comedian and television host is best known for leading 'The Late Late Show with James Corden', a late-night television talk show on CBS. Back in his homeland, he is also known for co-writing and co-starring in 'Gavin & Stacey', for which he won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Performance. His film credits include 'Gulliver's Travels', 'Into the Woods', 'Kill Your Friends', 'Peter Rabbit' and its 2020 sequel and 'Cats'.

Bobby Cannavale as George

Cannavale plays the role of Carol's love interest. The actor is best known for his work on 'Third Watch', 'Boardwalk Empire', 'Vinyl', 'Will & Grace', 'Mr Robot' and 'Master of None'. For his recurring role on NBC's 'Will & Grace' as Will Truman's long-term boyfriend Officer Vincent 'Vince' D'Angelo, he won the 2005 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. For his performance as Gyp Rosetti on 'Boardwalk Empire', he won the 2013 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Apart from them, the film also stars Brian Tyree Henry as Carol's best friend Dennis, Damon Jones as Victor, Jean Smart as the President of the United States, Karan Soni as Ahmed, Michael Beach as General Gomez, Sam Richardson as NSA Agent Donahue, Sarah Baker as Emily, Usman Ally as Sergei, Andrew Tinpo Lee, Charles Green, Jakari Fraser, Jock McKissic, José Alfredo Fernandez, and Jwaundace Candece.
