Talk about an intense episode. The latest offering from 'Supergirl' had Nia Nal at the center, tackling a very painful theme: Transphobia. After a man attacks her friend Yvette to get close to the Dreamer, Nia vows revenge and decides to fight for the trans-community. This episode titled 'Reality Bytes' was an emotional one as Nia breaks down and confesses her anguish to Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). Nia has been going through quite a tough time as she also had to battle a heartbreak in the middle as Brainy decided to end his relationship with her (for noble reasons of course).

Fans were left tearful after this episode and were showering praise on the 'Supergirl' writers.

"#Supergirl@NicoleAMaines absolutely killed it tonight MVP she was so incredible absolutely love dreamer tonight on supergirl And the scene when nia was crying and Kara comfort her was truly magnificent tonight love tonight episode of supergirl go nia (sic)," wrote a fan.

Another hailed the show for its inspiring message. "Great message on #Supergirl. Excellent episode. @TheCWSupergirl Heroism is when justice is sought and revenge mitigated by love," the fan wrote.

A fan praised Nicole A Maines for her performance as Nia. "@NicoleAMaines you were simply Amazing in this episode. one of the best ones in a Long time. you and melissa (specifically you) in your final scene together gave me literal chills. you’re so talented and i’m so proud of you (sic)."

"Tonight’s episode proved #supergirl can give all their main characters good storylines and equal screentime and it can be absolutely amazing," tweeted another fan.

"Tonight's episode of @TheCWSupergirl was amazing. I loved it that it focussed on Nia as a transgender and a superhero defending her community. Loved it so much. Can't wait for next week's episode to focus on Super Alex," tweeted another fan.

"Nia and kara's final scene broke my heart," a fan wrote.

'Supergirl' airs on The CW on Sundays at 9pm.
