Stunning Nat Geo video shows wild elephants in their natural habitat in upcoming documentary 'Into the Okavango'
'Into the Okavango', an upcoming National Geographic documentary featuring wild elephants in their natural habitat, premiered earlier this year at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival and is slated to release in December. And ahead of its premiere on Nat Geo Wild later in the year, the network has released a stunning footage from the documentary shot and directed by Neil Gelinas.
An executive producer, director, cameraman and editor for the National Geographic Society, Gelinas spent over six years making 'Into the Okavango', his first feature documentary, that showcases the wild elephants in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Known for being home to the world’s largest population of African elephants, the majestic river delta (also a World Heritage site) in modern times, however, faces some serious threats owing to the increased human activity along the river region.
