A former high school counselor pleaded guilty to having sex with a 17-year-old student while appearing in an Ohio courtroom on Monday and was sentenced to two years in prison for her crime.
37-year-old Rebecca Sparrow was a counselor at the Cuyahoga Falls High School and she made an emotional apology to the student and his family in front of the Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones. As reported by the Columbus Dispatch, Sparrow pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery in November. Sparrow who is a mother of two, told the court, "I’m so sorry for my betrayal and broken trust. You all expected more from me — and I let you down."
