'You feel like a sociopath': 'Stranger Things' star Joseph Quinn reveals struggle to nail American accent
After the release of the latest season of 'Stranger Things,' Eddie Munson is quite the rage. The metalhead with a heart of gold joined the cast in the fourth season and fans have been in awe of both the character and the actor who played him.
'Stranger Things' is set in the 1980s in a fictional town called Hawkins, Indiana. Joseph Quinn, the British actor who played Munson, recently said that doing an American accent during filming made him spiral a little bit.

"You feel like a sociopath," the actor said on an episode of the 'Off Menu' podcast with British comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster. Acaster had complimented Quinn on his American accent in the show, which prompted the actor to talk about how strange it can feel to be in character.
Quinn added, "After a while I was so far down the rabbit hole, at points I'd be like 'Do I sound good? Do you like this? Do you like what I'm doing?'" Quinn apparently discussed his worries with his fellow actor Joe Keery, who played Steve Harrington in the series. "I was talking to Joe Keery and at one point I was so deep in it, and he was like 'Dude, I can't save you, but I promise you it's gonna be fine,'" Quinn said. Since the story was set in Indiana, it was imperative that the actors adopted American accents.

Quinn appeared as the first guest for season eight of the 'Off Menu' podcast, in which Gamble and Acaster invite celebrities to choose a starter, main course, side dish, drink and dessert from their fictional "dream restaurant." With everything being said, Joseph Quinn managed to effortlessly nail Eddie Munson's role and accent, and made millions of fans along the way. Munson is by far the only 'Stranger Things' character to amass such a huge fan following in such a short span of time.
