'Stranger Things' Season 4 reveals its working title and the internet wants to know what exactly is a 'Tareco'
Production for 'Stranger Things' season 4 is underway, and fans are grasping for every shred of information they can get their hands on. The latest piece of information to chew over comes from a report by ComicBook.com, the working title for the new season is 'Tareco.'
This doesn't give a lot for people to work with, as tarecos are nothing but a kind of small, tough biscuit eaten in north-east Brazil. With so little to go on, there are vastly different things that it could mean. The name could imply an Upside Down invasion in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Perhaps the season is moving on from Russian antagonists, and see Hawkins, Indiana be beset by Brazilian superspys instead.
It could be a reference to the other delicious snack item featured on the show - Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) love for Eggo Waffles. Season 4 may reveal more backstory to the other children raised in the facility that raised Eleven - and if so, we now know what their favorite snack is.
Tareco is not an uncommon surname in Brazil, either, meaning that it could simply be a reference to a new character who will be appearing on the show to play an important role in the season to come.
Of course, the simplest explanation of all is that the working title is a simple misdirection, meant to either throw fans off intentionally or just keep all of Season 4's secrets under wraps from obsessive fans and news sites dissecting every piece of news from every angle possible. Obscuring details of a project by assigning it a completely random name is a common tactic that Hollywood is not averse to using.
No release date has been released for Season 4 of the popular Netflix series, but with production on the way, it shouldn't be long before the announcement is made.
