Directed by Corbin Timbrook, this thriller follows Izzy Thompson (Lexi Giovagnoli), a savvy businesswoman trying to launch a dog-related app while struggling with the overshadowing presence of her famous stepfather.

Jack Thompson (Lorenzo Lamas), a legacy businessman, wants Izzy to take over his real estate empire instead of his stepdaughter Dana (Bri Ana Wagner) or the scheming financial officer Terry (Milli M).

The plot thickens as Jack's deteriorating memory begins to interfere with his work, revealing troubling signs of dementia.

Simultaneously, Izzy discovers a troubling receipt for $700K transferred from the company’s account, which triggers a series of violent attacks on anyone who comes into contact with the document.

The film builds suspense by intertwining Jack’s health crisis with a gripping financial mystery. Characters like the abrasive Dana and the suspicious Terry, who obsessively shred documents, cast suspicion in multiple directions.

With its thrilling twists, the film keeps viewers guessing and remains a captivating watch thanks to strong performances and a tense atmosphere.

Lexi Giovagnoli shines as Izzy Thompson in 'Stepmom from Hell', delivering a standout performance that anchors the film.

Her portrayal of Izzy, a driven businesswoman caught in a web of deceit and danger, is both engaging and emotionally resonant.

Giovagnoli adeptly captures Izzy's resourcefulness and determination, making her a compelling lead. Whether navigating the treacherous waters of her stepmother's machinations or facing the challenges of a failing family business, Giovagnoli brings depth and authenticity to her role.

Her chemistry with Andrew Fultz, who plays Detective Brian Roman, adds an extra layer to the narrative, even though his role as a law enforcement officer feels somewhat secondary.

Giovagnoli’s emotional scenes, particularly when Izzy is cut out of her father’s life, are notably affecting.

Despite the film’s predictable elements, Giovagnoli’s performance ensures that Izzy remains a strong, memorable protagonist, steering the film through its twists and turns with grace and intensity.
